LOAD vs IMPORT

Are there any advantages to LOAD vs IMPORT? We are moving tables and the associated indexes from SMS to DMS. I plan on exporting to an IXF file, drop, re-create pointing to DMS and then running an import or load.

My manager said that the LOAD may run faster. We are tight on time, since the system is suppose to be up all weekend....

Import will write to your log files and therefore take longer to run.

Where load will not and therfore will be faster. However if there are any problems with the load the asociated table space will be quiesce and all tables in that tablespace will become unavailable until you fix it.

I've seen load running 10 times faster than imports it all depends on what your loading.
