load sharing in postgres

Hi there,

Thanks for reviewing my writing ...
I would like to know how load sharing is implemented in postgres. Can multiple servers access same data directory at the same time ? Is using different ports bring any help ? How the fragmentation concept is implemented here. Please advice. Reference to some superb onlineguides will also do.

The standard distribution of PostgreSQL doesn't support any load-sharing or distributed processing yet. There are some commercial implementations, such as and
