Hello all,

can anybody tell me on what the load parameter of the normal SH INT command is based (i.e.: load 191/255) ?
So far as i know the bandwith conf parameter is only for metric use.
But based on what value else is the router calculating the load percentage (255=100%)?
And i.e. on a FR int S0/0 are several subinterfaces configured (like S0/0.903).
When you make now a SH on the subint, is the load referring to the whole link or to the sublink?
And another important question: Based on what timespace is the calculation based ?

Thank for any hint.

For an example:

INPUT: SH INT S 0/0.903

OUTPUT:
Serial0/0.903 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is M4T
Description: S 0/0.903 - CIR 256
Internet address is 1xx.1xx.1xx.1xx/30
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 512 Kbit, DLY 20000 usec, rely 255/255, load 191/255
Encapsulation FRAME-RELAY

Router utilization (show processes CPU) should normally be ablut 5-10% on a healthy router, and the load should be around 10 - 20/255. This all depends on what the router is doing though

you should normally have a transmit and recieve load (tx and rx) and I believe this is for the major interface. I guess the major interface stats will always be higher than the sub-interfaces
