Load modules with .htaccess

Hello. I have a website on a host that doesn't allow me to modify either the apache installation or the httpd.conf file for my site. As such, I was wondering if I could load a module (in my case - mod_dav) via the site's root .htaccess file, rather than through the standard methods.

The Apache online docs to not explicitly say that LoadModule can be loaded from a .htaccess file, so I think not.
