Hi All,

I may not be posting this to the right forum, and if I am please forgive me and redirect me to the correct forum.

I have a question on load balancing between routers and if anyone knows of a good product. Here is the situation. We have 2 T1'2 totaling 3MB from AT&T. We are purchasing another router that will have 6MEG of bandwidth. We still want to use AT&T as our primary and when the bandwidth gets used up on the primary it will go to the 2nd router (the 6meg router). The problem is AT&T mentions there is no way for their router to know when the bandwidth is used up and no way to configure the router to forward the packets to the 2nd router. They did mention there may be some 3rd party software that does this type of load balancing (i.e - transfer packets from one router to the next). Does anyone know of any 3rd party load balancing companies that do this?

Thanks for your time

Sorry for a typo. The 2nd router will be an actual connection to our 2nd ISP who will be serving us 6MEG of bandwidt.

Hi.. Nortel Alteon has a produkt, Link optimiser that can check load on different gateways, failover, loadsharing.

The box can do failover and different things, and I think it also can talk BGP if you want that.

I think the ALO stuff is part of Alteon OS 22.x.

Thanks for the reply Peder....I will check it out.

btw.. I think checkpoit also got some loadsharing stuff.., think you need licens..
