Hi,

I have a StorageTek L40. I have two questions here.

1. How am i going to load the tape to the tape drive and, more importantly,

2. How am i going to unload it back from the tape drive, to take out the tape?

Haha, i know this is really a simple question for experts. However, i really have no idea how this could be done. Thank you very much..

Boon

davidmichel, thanks for the information. Am i right if i assume the backup application is the software like Veritas Backup Exec for Windows and Veritas NetBackup for Solaris?

Comtec17, I am using Solaris and Windows 2000/2003. Thank you very much

Boon

Yes those are an example of a backup application that will handle the movement of the tapes. Basically you set up the backup job to backup to a specific tape for an automated rotation and the application will automaticly move the tapes from the slot to the drive/s as needed for the jobs.
