.lnk files

I use AOL for home email... I just rec'd email from a friend(using ZEarthlink as their ISP)that attached photos to the email they sent. The file attachment ends with .lnk and I don't have any application to open this file type with. Any ideas?

They sent you a shortcut/link to the image instead of the image itself. Not much you can do with the .lnk/link file.

Blujacket is correct. lnk is the file extension for a shortcut. I've done that by accident myself a few times.
