could anyone tell me why after running vrepair that nw5 puts *.lng files that very from 1gb to 4gb into sys.
This affects my backup exec as it thinks sys is bigger than it is.
Is there a fix for this problem..
Thanks
Nick

According to the TID below, they are similar to running CHKDSK on a WIndows machine and getting CHK files. Check it out anyway:

Yes thanks but I have already read this and it doesnt solve the problem of them putting them self into sys.
This must be a problem that is fixable my 30gb hard drive was reporting it had 356gb untill i deleted them.
And as I said it affects backup exec.
Thanks
Nick

What version of LONG.NAM are you running (will be on your servers C: - type MODULES LONG (or M LONG)at the console. -----------------------------------------------------

What version of NetWare are you running and what SP level? The TID below may not be specific to your issue but may explain why you get the LNG files. It suggests updating to the latest LONG.NAM

5.1 with no service pack but long.nam is the lastest from what i can gather

I agree with Mark. I believe VREPAIR.NLM gets updated in SP3 and may solve your problem. -----------------------------------------------------
