Ok, first off, i don't know much about computers so bear with me.

My dad has his comp. at home set up with his vpn from the mill he works at. We've been trying to set up my computer using a hub to the vpn as well. We have everything set up (I think), and my status shows that i'm connected, but it seems as though the connection is too weak or something and we can't get the internet to work. Any tips on what might be wrong would be greatly appreciated. If this is not enough information on the problem please let me know what info you need to help me fix the problem. Sorry for being such a newb.

Typically, the 'limited or no connectivity' error is due to not getting an IP address from a DHCP server, whether by VPN or not. Without knowing more about the existing VPN setup, no one can give any real advice, but it could be due to the fact that by using a plain hub, both computers are trying to get the same IP address. Now, before we proceed any further, does your father's employer realize that you're trying to use their VPN? I doubt that this is something that they would authorize because by definition, once connected your couputer would essentially be inside their network.

4. Check hardware connection and configuration.

5. If you are using wireless, check this page, Sent packets only on a wireless computer and Limited or no connection
