AFAIK the LL10 User Interface takes a very new approach entertaining new kids with Web 2.0 features and easy to use ajax/json style things.Engine wise I did not understand any major re-vamps there.The future has been dominated by -Web 2.0 whether you like the hype or not.( I can see thru most hype)

AFAIK there is no java development it would help this forum to dispel myths about this.
Livelink or LES will be called Content Server from now on.
From livelink 9.6 it was possible to call java methods from Oscript.It will still happen and that is how most integrations will work.
From 9.5 onwards it was possible to create code in java that is equivalent to oscript code.It is in sunset mode .OT does not plan to maintain two code streams.Anyways it will be there to keep the java side happy.
From 9.7.1 oscript web service objects are available.This will be your replacement /development for LAPI stuff.
LAPI is in sunset so they will not enhance it Current stuff will work.
The most touted hype about java development is the Oclipse plug in.this means that Java developers who know and breathe Eclipse will be able to code Oscript in Eclipse.

* Internationalization enhancements
* Metadata enhancements
* Web UI AJAX Update
* Cluster deployment and administration enhancements
Suggest you contact your OT Account Manager for more information and specifics about what is / is not included in the new release.
Also bear in mind that OT's offerings for SAP and Sharepoint integration may have an impact on "new" features for Core Livelink as their approach seems to be to use SAP / Sharepoint / Office as the front end rather than LL going forward.
