When a document is printed on my HP LaserJet5000 and it gets an "out of paper" the remaining pages are not printed after filling the tray. When trying to print a configuration page without any paper available the message "cancelling jobs" and not "loading paper"! Does anybody has any idea how this can be solved?

More info please.
Does a self test page print and eject??
What app are you print with ?
What OS ?

Hi, even the test page requested from the printer itself is not printed when there is no paper available. I am printing with Word, Excel,... installed on a W2Ksp4 machine. Regards.

From the configuration menu of the printer, it can be set to auto continue when a tray runs out of paper. This works only providing another tray is configured to contain the same type of paper.
