We have an HP 4350n printer that is about a year and a half old. It was working fine on a Dell Precision 530 Workstation, running W2k, sp4 via USB port. Last week that computer was replaced with a Dell Optiplex 755 running XP pro, sp2 (with the same USB cable). I downloaded the latest PCL 6 drivers from the HP site and tried adding a printer, using the newly downloaded driver. No response from the printer once the driver was loaded. I deleted the printer and removed it from “Server Properties”.
I then tried installing the PCL 6 drivers from the driver disk that came with the printer. It would get to where the drivers would install, then hang. The computer had to be powered down and restarted in order clear the hang. The printer showed up in Printers and Faxes, but would still not print. Has anyone experienced this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
