I have a LJ 4000tn on NT4.0 and installed latest driver from HP. When I go to properties/configure and select model 4000tn I can see 3 trays available. Next time I look at the properties the system has set it back to the basic model with 2 trays. I have administrator rights and the ownership is Administrators. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Is it hooked up using the jet direct card or parallel cable. IF jet direct, your admin id must have admin privledges for the NT server it resides on, not just local machines.

Thanks for your reply zelezr99.
It is using the jetdirect card, and yes, i do have Admin rights on the server.

Make sure you use the latest drivers and that the firmware of the JetDirect box is up to date. Try using the PCL 5e driver or install the printer locally first on the server on a "fake" LPT port. Afterwards configure the port to use a TCP/IP port eventually HP`s port monitor TCP/IP driver. Also print a configpgae on the printer to check if the printer has recognized all trays.
