Hi

I am having problems reconfiguring our LJ 4000 / 4200 Printers to duplex letterheaded paper correctly:

We have one type of letter that our company produces that needs to be duplexed. Our letterhead is placed face-up and front inwards in the manual feed for all normal letters (which are not duplexed) but when we print duplex letters the paper needs to be inserted upside-down & back to front from its usual position.

I have been doing some testing but cannot find out how to configure the printer to print these letters the other way round.

Is it possible to do this?

Many thanks

B

This is a real bugger to get worked out. But if you look in Word under Print Options, at the bottom of the dialog you will see two options: Front of the Sheet and Back of the Sheet.

These settings determine whether the page is printed top down or Bottom down for each side of the paper.

The problem is that the manual feed for the HP printers, the setting is agnored. So unfortunately, you have the same problem that we have for which there is no current solution. We have notified HP of the bug and hoping that the next release of printer driver will sort this out.

Meanwhile, the only solution is to install another paper bin for the headed paper (though that brings its problems too).

Hi

I thought this would be the case.

We have LJ4000's and 4300 all with 3 Trays and the Manual Feed in use.

I think we will have to print our own letterhead on this single sheet.

Thanks for the help

Think about this positively: it will save purchasing pre-printer paper!

Original driver? Do you mean the latest driver?

Select: Download drivers and software
Type in the box: LaserJet 4300
<Enter to go to new page>
Select: HP LaserJet 4300 Printer series
<New page>
Select an Operating System such as WinMe, Win2000, WinXP, etc.
<New page>
You will see several drivers that you can download there. I prefer PCL 5e over PCL 6 for older software, but many use PCL 6 unless they have issues with it.
