Product: Norton Internet Security 2004
OP SYS: Windows XP Home
Issue: began with Live Update would not update the virus def files. Uninstalled/reinstalled Live Update - still would not update virus defs. Downloaded a book of tech advice from Symantec - nothing would cure issue. Final solution - uninstall Norton Internet Security and reinstall.
Brings me to the issue now that the install fails.
Steps I've done: 1) Uninstall from add/remove programs
2) Install fails when installation files copy to the "config.msi" folder.
3)Downloaded and ran the "Windows Installer Cleanup"
4)Rebooted pc
5)TRIED to reinstall, receive the following error message box:
PRIVACY CONTROL
c:config.msi/2493e.rbf
I'm stuck - when it was installed the defintions would not update, now that it's uninstalled, it won't reinstall.
ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
