Hi,

WQe'd like to build a disk WORM solution. There is an immutability feature on our IBM GPFS filesystem. The problem is that there is no way to configure the filesystem to make it flag files as immutable. Each individual file as to go thru this process in order to become immutable:
1- Change the «last access date » of the file as a future date.
2- Mark the file as Read Only

Then the file becomes immutable up to the selected date. Is there a way for Livelink to perform these two actions on every new file?

Livelink is an application now called Content Server .What you want is to look into the API of a corresponding product called
OpenText Archive Server. It has capabilities of working with many file system manufacturers like Centera,Fujitsu, hitachi
So essentially you can make livelink use the "Archive Storage Provider" to talk to your special file system kind of a piggy back
Also livelink RM solution also understands a lot of rules.
I suggest you contact OT who can help devise a solution.Livelink is written in oscript and it has methods by which a file system can be accessed so in all probablity if it has to be a solution written with oscript I see why you cannot do this with livelink alone if push comes to shove.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
