While using the Livelink Search i keep receiving:

Livelink Error:

Error in search broker

[Search engine on winc:8500 not available!]

This is livelink 9.1. is there anyway around this?

This is a typical livelink system administration chore. If this occurs once in a while it may be just ok to re-start your admin server.Port 8500 is the search engine port and some anomaly(things like virus scanning, port scanning etc) migh've killed it.If the search engine refuses to stay up then there is something wrong with the system and may require additional steps for it.The saerch engine has a start button or command in the administartion GUI,that may be your first option. If you are a livelink sys admin I would advise you to read the different subsystems that make the indexing/searching thing work, common errors, its workaround and stuff. Most of them are in the online help and in the KB

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
