In processing Freedom of Information Requests, our agency is looking for a plugin (or other method) to certify documents that are downloaded from Livelink and then emailed to the requestors. The certification information would include some legal information, a signature, and a date stamp of the date the document was emailed out. We would want to include this information on every page of the document. Any information or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The request is very vague.I do not know about the plug in.You are probably thinking about the new javaserver modules available in livelink.
Opentext manufactures an email and zip module for 9.5
Theoretically this should work
User requests FOIA document in livelink
How does livelink know it is a FOIA document, the simplest would be to create a category and apply it to the document
Before sending the document this is the part that needs careful understanding
Livelink after checking perms etc has the document handle
In the appserver or webserver holding this temporary
document you should create a program .This program should be able to transfer your certification data to the header of the document.VBscript can be used to write header info to word documents.Similarly adobe may have programming ways to get to the haeders etc.Once this is done you can complete the request to the browser.
The user will not realize this.So in effect he has downloaded a document with massaged info.

I hope this gives you some ideas.I am tempted to say that this will be easy thru the livelink builder, since my knowledge on the new java paradigm isn't much.
wait for others too.
Good Luck

Basically, what we have are legal court documents that have been scanned into Livelink. Some are foilable by the public. When the agency gets a FOIL request, and if the document has been scanned into Livelink, the document is downloaded. We have some information that we want to include on every page of the document that is emailed out to the FOIL requestor. Our certification information inlcudes: agency seal, Certifying officer signature, language that includes "this is a true and accurate copy, etc.", and a date. My question is: does any one know of an easy way to put this info on each page of the FOILed document? Some of our docs are hundreds of pages long and to paste a gif on each of the pages is time consuming. I hope this makes it clearer on what we are trying to do. Thanks!

I ran a quick search on FOILABLE and I understand this is a legal term which you use with ease .Why don't you try opentext or livelinkteam@yahoo.com.Perhaps a person who has encountered this before may be able to help you.I am a programmer an will think only like that perhaps there is a better/sane answer to this elsewhere.
