The company I am consulting for is having problems with the "notification" function of Livelink.
It appears that if we setup a notification to a person that is local (another words, inside the company) than the notification works fine. However, if we try to notify someone who is not local (ie. an external email address like company@hotmail.com) we get a SMTP error message.
We are using Exchange 2000, Windows 2000 Server and Livelink all on the "same" system. Hence, only one computer is being used for all three.
The part I don't understand is that we can send email to anyone (external address using the same SMTP server) using Outlook and it works fine. However when we use the Notification option in Livelink, it does not relay properly.
Can anyone out there shed some light on my problem?
Thanks
