Hello. I work for a small company that has been using Livelink for some time now. We authenticate users via NTLM and all is well. Users can get onto the web interface without issues and use Livelink as it is intended. Users can also use Livelink Explorer and there are no problems there.
However, we recently went through a growth spurt and we now have a handful of new employees that need to use Livelink explorer. All the employees (new and old) are setup the same in Livelink - UserID is first.last and a blank password. The new employees can use the web interface perfectly. No issues. When they attempt to use LiveLink Explorer, their AD account gets locked out but it still allows the user to access the files and folders in Livelink Explorer.
When we setup the connection for Livelink Explorer to the Livelink server, we enter in the URL correctly. When we click Next, it displays a box that reads:
--
Livelink Explorer could not retrieve configuration information for the target Livelink server. To continue, specify the server information below. If you do not know the server information, contact your Livelink Administrator for assistance.
Authentication Type
* Livelink
* SSO Forms Authentication
* LDAP
* NTLM
* The Livelink login name includes both the domain name and username.
--
Right away the users AD account is locked. We haven't even chosen one of the 4 options above yet and BAM!, account locked out. We have tried different variations of all 4 of the above, even though we use NTLM. We even entered passwords into Livelink so it isn't blank and it mirrors AD and still the users account is locked out.
Also, the older employees can move from machine to machine and use Livelink explorer without issues so I don't think we are setting up Windows Explorer incorrectly.
Any ideas? We are at a loss as to why it is affecting these new employees.
