Dear folks,

I am a newbee on LDS module configuration. Can anyone help me on setting up Livelink 9.7.1 with Livelink Directory services and Netegrity Siteminder for 2 way authentication. Active directory is also used to get the users and groups of the company?

Any reference document showing me the step by step configuration with all these components?

Will appreciate your quick reply. Thanks in advance :)

Cheers

First here's my experience with siteminder in a LL install for waht its worth.
We had LL9.5 SP1 and LL DS with AD as the authentication part for an intranet livelink. The setting is very straightforward and we use REMOTE_USER as the authentication variable for livelink on the IIS web server.Mechanism is very simple,an intranet user logged into the domain hits the livelink URL,IIS webserver sees IWA,checks token with AD,if successful passes it to the livelink cgi.Now comes siteminder, for reasons above my control the same livelink had to be exposed in the extranet so it had a different URL.The Siteminder team sat with me and once I explained the mechanisms, went and created a response variable(all thru their gUI) and lo and behold put a rule saying that if siteminder got an authenticated credential then set REMOTE_USER (a fake variable set in siteminder)to that.Mind You all siteminder was doing here is providing a form at the entrance, and using the credentials submitting against another AD.

Siteminder is very much in vogue with livelink and you should even get official support from OT.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
