Live Video Streaming

Hi,

I have just being asked about a possible of streaming a live seminar over a given website. I have not done anything like this before and was wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction on how to go about this. What I would need to consider and if its possible.

webex and similar are good solutions. no reason why you can't do this using php to deliver a stream though. no magic to the php side but you need a video capture device that will allow the capture to be served as a stream.

Thanks Justin, I've looked through the webex solution and it seems a bit more than what I was looking for. Basically, I own a Sony Camera HDV-Z1 to be precise, have a firewire cable to connect it to my computer. Now all I want is to point my camera to an object and other person at another part of the world can see me via my webpage. My problem is I dont know how to get php to access my firewire port, get the video&audio feed and broadcast it??? umm, am I in a dream world?
