Live Update shows message:Cannot read list of new updates

When I attempt to run a Live Update the screen shows a box that says that it "could not uncompress the list of updates. The update list somehow got corrupted"... This happens continually-No help on the Symantec site-I have been attempting to figure this one out and plain give up. I can bring up Live Update Box and try time after time and it doesn't work...Any ideas?
