Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me if (and how) you can get 'live' alarms out of the MD110 via either direct IP polling or SNMP traps?

Alternatively, are they available via a serial interface?

Many thanks,

Paul

Hi

Manly you could have different ways to report alarms from system:
ALAPI command give you the possibility to sort out alarm on a port that you have select (V24 or IP).
However, for IP, you should maintain the ip session open, or you will loose the informations when the channel close due to time out.

Otherwise for SNMP you should use an ALU board that send SNMP trap

Best regards

You can use Winfiol and Telnet and be connected to lots of sites permanently.Winfiol can be set up to send command when it gets back "Time out warning " and then you set it up to send sms ,sound alarm on pc etc if it receives alarm text.Basically cheap (free) version of EVM

Could someone detail how the ALAPI command works please? I am a complete MD110 novice!

Many thanks,

Paul

You mean: AAU-Board

to initiate spontenaous printout for ALL alarms on an iodev:

ALAPI:IODEV=X,CLA=0&&4;

to check your iodev's: IODDP;
