In VB6 I can create a form that has a list-box. The list-box can have the style "check-box" enabled so that each item in the list has a check-box next to it.

Is there anything in Access 2002 that allows a similar check-box to appear in a list-box control on a form?

No. But you can create a form (subform) and drag it onto your main form. You can include as many types of controls as you like including check boxes. Be sure to create either master / child relationships or drive your subform from a query with a unique record pointer to a control on your main form.
Hope this helps...T
