Lists - Amending

Hi,

I've created a list for all the company employees.

How do I amend it?

When I click "Edit in Datasheet" I get:-


The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons: A datasheet component compatible with Windows SharePoint Services is not installed, your browser does not support ActiveX controls, or support for ActiveX controls is disabled.


Display the list in Standard view.


Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services.


Any ideas on how to get this working?

This might be a message if you dont have office(2003) installed on you machine, altough i am not sure about the error in the standard view but it could be related.
Or check if ActiveX controls are allowed, you can add the site to the trusted site group, in IE Tools/internet options/security.

Is this your first list in sharepoint or do you have otherlist that do work? (if so are they on the same website?)

BTW the ammending is done easiest in the settings page, go to the allitems page of the list, then youll see a few links in the left nav bar, select the bottom one (it says something like "edit settings and columns")
