Hi. I have a report that runs on a 24-hour cycle. There are many users throughout the day. At the end of the report my boss wants to be able every person who worked that day. Right now the only identifer is a user number... so how do I put the user's name at the end?
Thanks

Presumably you have a table that has user number againt the user name. Have a look at dlookup to put in a text box on the report that will give the name.

I always have trouble with the DLookup function, can you give me an example text?

Thanks

Assuming you have table with the UserNumber and the EmployeeName, you should include this table in your report's record source.

What do you mean include it in the report source? I thought you could only have one (currently running off of a query)

Yes, a report can have only one record source. That record source can be made up of several tables/queries.

Somewhere in your query you're getting the user number, just bring in the table that contains user numbers and names into the query, link the user number fields together, and bring the user name field into the query. Hope that helps.

I tried your suggestion Kevin, I linked the two tables in the query. The problem now is that I want each user's name to appear only ONCE at the bottom the reports, sort of a 'who's on duty' thing. When I put the current field in it returns only one name, the first person on the list. Can you give my any further help?

Create a totals query that groups by the "Who's On duty" field. Use this as the record source of a report. Add this report to the report footer of your main report.

I made a query and what I did was count the number of times the user number appeared and added the person's name so the name only appears once in the query, but I added to the main form and only 1 name appears.

Don't use a Link Master/Child value(s). ALso make sure the subreport and section can grow.
