hello

i am looking for a way to listen to the radio over the internet. i have all the equipment in place (connection, pc, soundcard, SuSE Linux 7.3 etc)...

all i need is an audio player (i.e. a Linux equivalent of Real Palyer or something like that...)

can anyone recommend one for me???

thanx in advance [pipe]

thanx for the link RhythmAce!

problem, though... i went to that site and downloaded a .bin file. however, i've absolutely no experience with this type of file --i've only ever installed tarballs and RPMs.

i followed the instructions on the site and made it exectuable but it just won't run. it tells me it cannot execute a binary file. do i have to compile it or something?

I just did this yesterday. Let's call the file you downloaded "realplayer.bin", because the real name is just too long ;-)
Code:
mv realplayer.bin /tmp
cd /tmp
chmod u+x realplayer.bin
./realplayer.bin
Make sure you choose an installation path that you can write to (like your home directory if you aren't installing as root)

thanx a lot flugh!!

your help is much appreciated :)

one more quick question: whereabouts is the soundcard located on my system (i.e. floppy drive = /dev/fd0 etc.). i have suddenly encountered soundcard problems!!!!

thanx again for your help people [pipe]
