I'm trying to see if I have any activity over port 9601. Is their a command I can use to watch or even identify I have activity over this port?

Thanks for the reply. This helps.

This has been a bear. I'm trying to help with some socket programming over this port. The machine is AIX 4.1.5 ( don't laugh ). It's been around for ages (I think I was in grade school when my company implemented this server). We're trying to do socket programming to phase this thing out.

I was using netstat -a , but that wasn't too helpful with the port number.

I also messed with lsof, however, the version of lsof for 4.1.5 doesn't have the same functionality of the newest version for 4.3 and up. My 5.3 commands aren't working on 4.1.5 :)

Thanks again.

Ha ha ha ha ha, sorry, couldn't help my self.
4.1.5, ha ha ha ha ha, sorry, there I go again.
It comes as no surprise that any useful command from 5.3 won't work on 4.1.5 ha ha ha ha, sorry, I can’t help it.
I have nothing useful to add to this post but it did give me a good laugh.
Sorry.
Snigger.
At least you are in touch with reality if you have a 5.3 machine, so I don't feel too guilty about posting this.
He he ;0)
Stars are welcome ! – I think you deserve one or two for posting 4.1.5, he he he he, oh I’m off again…..
