listen to opus file

As we all know the new app servers are recording the AAs in opus file format. I have tried to use Groove music, Gold Wave and VLC media player but none of them will play the file, am I doing something wrong or is this not possible?

I always thought that VLC can play them.
Maybe it is a special Avaya codec. Make sure that your VLC is updated.

I just pulled out an opus file from our Lab system, I can't play it in VLC but it works in Groove Music. Go figure.
