Hello,
I am trying to help a non-profit org. They were running NT 4.0 with arcserve 6.5. Theier hard disk crashed and dont have a sys admin. New NT is installed and arcserve 9. I try to restore the backup from backup media and it complains user log on failure and then invaild file header signature and invaild trailer signature. I am not sure that thier backups were good or not
Under arcserve how do I list the content of the current backup media in the tape drive and check if data written to the media is good ?
A brief step by step would be a great help !

thanks
charles

Do you know which tape hardware was used with the ARCserve 6.5 backups ??

regards

As far as I know ARCserve 6.5 did not support the DDS4 technology (check :
for this).
I've seen this once : ARCserve 6.5 didn't report anything during backups but the data could not be restored.
Did you ever try restoring using the original ARCserve 6.5 version ??

regards
