hi all, bit of a newbie HTML question. i have never used lists before but i have decided to give them a go, so i put a list down the left of the page but my problem is that i cannot get the normal text to sit to the right of the list, it just goes underneath?

That is actually what should happen. Lists are block level elements, just like paragraphs, divs, forms or tables. Thus, they take up entire line and everything else falls below or above them. Similar to tables -- eventhough they do not take up entire screen width wise, nothing floats to the left or right. That said, the solution is in the last sentence. You can either float a list next to something else, or float something else next to a list, or float both and the elements will appear side to side.

Excellent thanks! That worked great.
