List of Missed Calls in Display AVAYA Phones! 7

A Nice one for Everyone thinking a Definity is not able to provide phoneset-users with a list of missed calls :
(It is possible, so I've learned today)

Programming the phoneset:
1. Enter the command change station xxxx
2. On page 2, set the field LWC Log External Calls to "y".
3. Program the following buttons (soft-keys): msg-retr and delete-msg

Using the feature:
1. When a call is missed (abandoned or covered) the MWI-light lights up. Select the msg-retr button to see time, date and number of the caller. (Use next to scroll through the data)
2. Use the delete button to delete the missed-call message.
(3. Press next to scroll through all messages)
4. Press exit to return to normal mode.

Doesn't work for me

I don't have those options for softkeys, but I do for DSS buttons, and I programmed those. Then made an external call to my phone, the MWI didn't light up though, nor does it say I have any calls.

There are a few other LWC options, which are turned on.

I'm running Definity r9.5

any ideas?

What is your station type, as far as I'm aware this only works on 64xx series and >.

In sys-para fea, leave word calling parameters, there is a field called 'message waiting indication for external calls'. Maybe this needs to be set to 'y' for the MWI to light?

I have 64xx series. The phone I tried it on is a 6416D+M Set. Applepie, I changed that Feature to 'Y' with no difference in results..


Any more ideas?

I use this feature already for a while
and i know that you cant use it with softkey buttons.
you have to add two buttons, the msg-retr and the
delete-msg like maarten say.
But you have to change also the system-parameters feature
"maximum numbers of external calls logged per station"
change this to 10 for example
"message waiting indicationfor external calls"
change this to Y

Now you have done everything and you have to see if you missed an external call.

Yeap, actually I set mine to 5 for the log, I do have bridged line apperances, but other than that, everything is set like you guys say.. But its not working..

On the station form of 6408d+ on G3siV6 the field LWC Log External Calls does not exist -any ideas?

Did you check the LWC fields on page 2 of the system-parameters features?

Though, think this is a release issue... I'm not too familiar with the LWC issue :-(

I can confirm this works on 8434 as well,
Have been successfully using it for some months now.
Anyone ever got this to work on a Definity-AUDIX group-mailbox?
For some reason I can only get this to work on a single station, with its own audix mailbox assigned..

Is this group mailbox for a hunt-group extension?
Try to change the field LWC Reception on the hunt-group form and/or the station form. Honestly, I don't have that much experience on LWC stuff, but this was just a hunch. Just play around a little with those fields and let me know what happend! (Rather Curious actually, but no time to test)

Here's from the definity docs..

"Leave Word Calling Log External Calls allows the switch to monitor when an external call is not answered. The switch keeps a record of up to 15 calls, provided information on the caller identification is available, and the phone’s message lamp lights. The phone set displays the names and numbers of unsuccessful callers."

I did get this to work on the 6416 D+M... but only if the incoming calling line info. is available. For calls that do not send ID info, the system will not log the message.
