Hello everyone,

I have an interesting idea where I would like to create a list of fonts stored locally on a workstation.

Thsi list would then be dynamically populated into a "select" form so users can use the page with the font they wish to view it with!

I know if has probably something to do with CFDirectory & Structures but that's where I'm stuck.

Any ideas?

There is no way to access files and directories on the client's machine.

They can choose to upload a file, but you cannot do anything behind the scenes that the user has no control over. If that were possible I could probably steal all of the email accounts and passwords from anyone that hit my web site, providing I knew what directory their mail software was installed to.

As far as customizing an interface, and knowing what fonts the client has, you're going to need to wait until dynamic vector technology from Adobe is further developed. This would operate the same as Flash, in that everything is server side, but the result would be HTML with graphics and text with fonts generated totally on the fly. Ill try to get the name of the project and post it here.
