Ok, in taking some measurements of usage for our pbx I came across the great list measurements load-balance command to see the traffic across my port network links.

I'm just confused for this report here:

PORT NETWORK LOAD BALANCE STUDY REPORT
TOTAL CALLS
Time Division Multiplexed(TDM) Port Network(PN) Link
Meas -------------------------------- --------------------------------
PN Hour Usage Peg Peak Blockage %Occ Usage Peg Peak Blockage %Occ

1 1100 5838 9790 193 0 34 4586 6172 154 0 17

What is the difference between the TDM side and the PN side? So if I add PN usage and Intercom usage should I equal TDM usage?

Basically I'm trying to isolate data to see how big a pipe we need to change from PN links over PSTN to IP based links.

Hope this is clear!

Sorry let's try a screen shot.

The left side (PN) identiies traffic within the Port network. The right side shows traffic that leaves the Port Network and goes to other Port Network. Attached is the link to the Avaya Reports Manual.

Ok, so the TDM traffic is just within each Port Network and the Port Network traffic is for calls that actually used our links between PN's?

Thanks, we have 1 central location where all our PSTN connections are and 4 remote pn's linked over tie lines and ds1 converter cards.

Also, the load-balance intercom report show the same data except it's station to station calls only?

=)

Use the load-balance total report. It gives you the complete picture. For the remote locations, you only have up to 92 conversations, assuming that all 4 point-to-point ciircuits are installed.

So out of the 5838 usage from the report above, 4586 of them went out to some other PN via the links? The difference of the two number would be usage of calls that hit that PN and stayed there?

Thanks for the help! Coming from former Nortel customer, I had no idea Avaya traffic measurements are soooo much easier to set up and view.
