Can someone help me, please?

I'm just starting out in asp.net and i'm creating a website (online shop) for a friend, and they've ask for the following:

A list that displays 'Categories' and when they click on a category a new list appears, either as a submenu or separate list (which ever's easisest), that displays Manufacturer names and a count of the number of items within the selected category.

See attached for an example:

Filter List1 shows the category list and when a category is clicked another list, Filter List2, shows a breakdown of that category, ie. manufacturer, prices, etc.

Thanks.
