I was wondering if anyone knew a way to create a drop down list/list box on the input box for a parameter query, so users can just choose the criteria instead of having to type it in.

I have a table of criteria to be used for a parameter query and some of them are quite long. I am afraid this may cause problems due to misspellings if users are left to their own devices to enter criteria.

Is this possible?

Thanks,
Rayna

Hi!

As far as I know, the only way to do it is to make your own form with the combo box or list box attached to your criteria table. Then you will also need a button to run the query after the user selects the criteria. In the criteria box of your query you will need to put [Forms]![YourFormName]![YourControlName]

Jeff,

Thanks for the tip. I suspected that it might involve my own form. I have created the form, and placed what you said in the criteria slot in the query, and when I run it, I now just get a regular input parameter window with [Forms]![Facility List for Parameter Query]![LocationList] at the top.

There is no drop down list at all. Am I calling the form incorrectly? I used Expression Builder, so there's no spelling errors or anything.
