Why won't the size of the list box stay the same? It is smaller in the QuickView than it is in the Design window.

Also is there a way to adjust the width. I have adjusted the Height with the "Lines" property but I would like to have control over the width as opposed to having it adjust itself? Rob
Just my $.02.

I'm not sure what you mean by CSS style sheet, but I have tried setting the width in the Properties and when I clicked apply, it went back to what it was originally. Don't know where the Select Tag is either. I just started with Interdev a few weeks ago. Thanks. Rob

CSS: Cascading Sytle Sheet. Sample ones are created when you add a 'Theme' to a web in Frontpage or VI. VI has a reasonable Stylesheet editor. You can create a stylesheet and include it in all pages of your web so that the Font/Colour/Size/Borders/Line height/.. etc are consistent througout your site without having to put specific HTML tags around every darn thing. Unfortunately, different browsers have different CSS capabilities - and may ignore some settings.
If you can create a CSS file in your project, then you can drag the file from the project window to your .ASP page, and VI will add the 'include' tag to your file.

You can reference a stylesheet (CSS) tag name by adding a CLASS="tag-name" to any HTML tag.

You can, instead, apply ad-hoc stylesheet formatting to a particular tag by adding STYLE="css mark-up" to any HTML tag. As shown above by cbokowski.

The stylesheet syntax is rather different to HTML: but it is VERY rich in its formatting capabilities - far superior to the simple html attributes.

Web Lesson 1. Don't get too concerned about the layout - different browsers (and design tools/windows) will render your HTML slighly differently. Most sites that are well layed out tend to use graphics (even for text and push buttons and links) because they hold their size well.
If you use DTC controls, you will find that the HTML that they generate at runtime may be different for different browsers - which again affects the layout/size.
Putting things (like combo boxes) into a table can help - but you will need to add graphics to the top row to force the size of the columns below - as well as to put the width value in every td element.

Web Lesson 2. Web technology is a mind-bogglingly huge subject. Although it is very easy to create a simple Web, complex sites (Form based, multi-browser capable, dynamic) can take AGES to master. So just be glad that you can create a combo of any size!

Try reading Visual Quickstart - HTML for the World Wide Web by Elizabeth Castro or similar for a decent HTML primer. (Content Management)
