lip24 call answer problems

The system is an Ipecs 100 ver 5.5Fc. Intermittently when a call comes in and the receptionist picks up the handset the call does not connect and sometimes it goes to loudspeaker. Tbe phone used to have a headset connected but this was removed some time ago. The lcd display still shows an icon of a handset with a question mark in the top right hand corner . The handset version is 1.1Db.
Any ideas?

1. The handset with ? Next to it relates to missed calls. Press the log button and it will show your call history. When you come out of that part the ? Disappear.

2. Ive had this on a few handsets and always stems down to the hook switch. Are you by any chance using the lip handset in the most upright position? I suggest you turn the noggin(used for when the phone is wall mounted) upside down so you have to lift the handset not pull the handset. Always check if the hook switch is up when they answered the call.

Is this a LIP-24D or a LIP-8024D?

What eats said is good advice, but I'm not sure how the hook switch would make the phone go to loudspeaker.
1.2Af software may remedy the issue, it certainly wouldn't do it any harm anyway.
