LIP-8012E and 8024E boot-c issue

I have had a couple of these handsets come up with

BootC Start (LIP-8012E)
Enter Password

I have been told there is no fix and replace handset, but while reading up about another issue on another site, reference was made to there been a fix for this problem. I cannot remember the name of the site and was wondering if anyone had heard of a fix?

I've contacted our dealer partner and there is a way to fix it but they are not willing to give out the files. All you need is a TFTP server with the correct files and it will load the software back onto the handset.

They're pretty firm on not giving out the software even when pushed.

I have only recovered D series phones but there you just need the normal rom file.
But you need the serial GDK-TRC1 adapter with a cable to the phone.
