Hi,

Has anyone setup any of the E series phones using the open vpn client function?

Any tips or tricks I need to know?

I can set the server address, login and password no worries. When I upload the user cert it says 'success' but it doesn't show in the cert list, only cert.ca

Cheers

Step 1. Upgrade & Install iPECS MFIM as per standard.
Step 2. Have an IT administrator install OpenVPN Server with a WAN port on the router side and LAN port on local device side (or as per Appendix A). IT administrator will create client user accounts as required.
Step 3. Register the handset to the MFIM that is going to be deployed remotely at the Local site and access the IP address of this handset via your browser.
Step 4. Click VPN and enter the OpenVPN client user details.

The vpn setup is done via the handset web portal.

Some points of note:

1. The OpenVPN NTP server & the hardware system clock should be sychronised.
2. Currently only 128 AES encryption supported on 8000E handsets.
3. comp-lzo is not supported & no iptables on the OpenVPN server should be running.
4. Must download server ca.crt file from the server and upload to the 8000E handset.
