LINUX WON'T BOOT

My linux machine won't seem to start up it keeps hanging at "bringing up loopback interface" everything else starts up fine and gives an OK till this point. Any ideas? is there a way that i can start in like single user mode or safe mode?

Sure, what distro and version of linux? Could be a bad network card.

it is linux red hat 7.3 don't laugh but i had this problem on another machine (exact same problem) that is why i built this machine. now i'm having the same problem. only common thing is apache i build the machines then config apache and wham a day later it hangs and won't reboot. thanks for the help
