Linux Web Connectors

I know that "web connectors" are available for Linux, but I can't seem to find *any* information on how to use them.

Will the web connectors allow me to create reports on the fly (like with IIS) or are they something completely different?

I've reinstalled Enterprise on IIS 3 times so far, and it continues to fail after a few days. I'd love to move it off to Apache, but I don't know if it actually works.

Thanks for any help!
