Am trying to get my personal Linux box @ home to VPN into office server @ work.
Linux machine = Caldera eDesktop 2.4
Ofc Server mach=M$NT 4.0 SP6
VPN known to work using M$Windoze on the same machine.
Downloaded IPFWD and PPTP software and compiled it.
When running "pptp [NTBOXADDR] debug name ksslnx remotename kssweb [LINUX-OFC-INTERNAL-IPADDR]:[NTBOX-INTERNAL-IPADDR]"
It looks like the connection is made correctly. It doesn't matter whether or not I run the "ipfwd" software -- whenever I try to add the route to the internal network, I get a "Network is unreachable" error.
I don't care one whit about getting SAMBA clients or services working -- I just need the VPN connection to work so I can use the Linux ICA client over the connection.
I know the firewall (ipchains) isn't interferring -- I took the firewall boot script out and rebooted the system so I had an out-of-the-box "wide open" system. Same results.
Anybody out there ever successfully do this? It seems from some of the places I've cruised that some of the older well versed Linux guys may have done so. However, I'm no kernel hacker by any means, and am stuck at this point. [There's no definitive "how-to" for this that I've found -- sorta like the lack of how to set up ppp-server how-to's -- all kinds of help for being a client there, just not being a server!]
If you can help, or at least point a poor old thick headed fellow in the right direction -- I would deeply appreciate it.
