I am planning to tak some certfications on Linux/Unix. I am a Linux administrator.
Not sure what is around and whats a good one to take.
Please advise.

I know Redhat.com has an admin-type of certification. RHCA, I think?

I'd like to get an LPI cert... That's the Linux Professional Institue. Check out lpi.org for more info. I read the "LPI in a nutshell" and it seems like a worthwhile cert but you're probably more hirable with the Redhat one. (who hasn't heard of redhat?)

Also search around here someone asked that question not long ago I think it had some replies.

RHCE - Red Hat Certified Engineer

The RHCE is the premier Linux certification. Its a written and performance based exam. One written exam and 2 labs. It costs about $750 to take it.

LPI or the SAIR/GNU cert is a better place to start, unless you are already a Linux guru. The easiest Linux cert is CompTIA's Linux+.
