Linux thin clients?

I work for a local high school and we are considering trialling linux in one of our rooms, this will not be a highly used room so we have some leeway for messing around. We have a spare server and 10 Pc's and are interested in running them as thin clients, also possibly using RDP to connect to a Windows terminal server to support certain apps.

Does anyone here run a setup like this that can advise on what software i should look at?

Check out the Linux Terminal Server Project. That's what they do.

Excellent, i was concered about what would be the best software to pick but as it turned out there is a site dedicated to Linux Terminals in schools.
