linux sync error

i installed redhat linux 6.2 on a partitioned drive with windows me on the other partition, the setup when ok until it came to restart the computer and startup for the first time. after i chose to start linux, it came up with stuff about my processor, type etc, and then i got a "out of sync error". that was as far as i got. i have tried reintalling but i get the same error. can anyone help?

Please let us know, if you installed LILO properly. At LILO's prompt, did you give hda drive etc. Provide some details about data you typed against the setup prompts, etc
