hi all,

I have installed linux red-hat 9's boot up manager (guess grups??).

Since i have windows in the same system i want 2 things:

1- in the boot up manager menu winows be the default option.
2- i need to select the options manually - now it starts linix in 9 seconds?

possible at all?

many thanks

Open /boot/grub/grub.conf. You'll notice that you have at least 2 blocks or sections that start with the word "title". These are the boot images. Now notice the line that says "default=0". The "title" sections have a value ranging for zero to however many boot images you have. So if Windows is the second on the list, you would change "default=0" to "default=1". The "timeout" value is in seconds. It will wait that amount of time before it loads the default image if you don't make a selection.
