I talked with a Product Specialist Engineer (PSE) regarding this issue. We understand that in the past you were able to backup this client even though it is an unsupported version of Linux. The PSE was thinking that you had to use some modification to get the installation on this client to complete because our Linux packages only use RPM to install and Slackware by default does not have RPM.

What the PSE and I are going to do is create an RFE to support the Slackware version of Linux and drum up support from our co-workers to add as many customers to the list as possible. With this effort we hope to get the Product Manager to understand the importance of supporting Slackware.

The more folks that request Slackware support, the better chance we have.

.

Thank you,
