I've got some retired IBM servers (PC330, NF3000, NF3500, NF5500)that I want to bring back to life in a SuSE Linux network. When installing SuSE it seems to pick up all the drivers etc fine, but I'm not sure how well it is working with the IBM ServerRaid on the machines. For safety sake I thought to use the ServerGuide disks and install the OS that way ... However, I see now they dont offer provision for Linux.

Unlike RedHat, SuSE doesnt seem to leave a pre-existing raid partition alone when partitioning (or if it does, I'm not experienced enough to see it doing that).
Has anyone made this change? If so, could you guide me to the best way to partition SuSE for ServerRaid.
Thanks
Christy

You should not have to do anything special. Boot to the server raid manager CD and create your Arrays and Raid levels and then load your OS. Depending on what raid card you are using you may have to load the drivers for it manually. You can browse the server raid manager CD on a windows based machine and in the BOOKS folder are documents on how to do that.
